Driving to BelAir by William G. Jones ~ Review from QBR
This book was recommended to me when I was looking for something funny, uplifting, easy and fun to read. Thanks, because that’s exactly what I got. I really enjoyed the ride to BelAir. The author did a great job developing believable and likeable characters, and has a talent for flow in writing. Dale thought he had everything he dreamed of when he moved to New York. But when the death of his dad sends him home to the Indiana farm where he grew up, he’s faced with those he left behind as well as unresolved feelings. Then his dad’s last wish forces him to acknowledge all he tried to forget when he and his brothers, along with current and ex-girlfriend, take a road trip to scatter daddy’s ashes. What happens along the way changes everything for everyone in the story. I’m usually pretty good about predicting outcomes but I have to say that this one had some surprises for me and I like that. And, I think you’ll like Driving to BelAir. ~$0.99

In Search of Lucy by Lia Fairchild ~ Review by QBR fan Tracey
I just finished reading In Search of Lucy by Lia Fairchild and even though it's not my usual genre I'd read so many good things about it I thought I'd give it a go. I'm so glad I did. In Search of Lucy lives up to its' many rave reviews, I laughed, cried and became so engaged with Lucy that I truly didn't want the book to end. All in all a wonderful read that I give 5 stars to - even if it's not in your comfort zone I highly recommend this wonderful tale. ~$2.99

The Brevity of Roses by Linda Cassidy Lewis ~ Review by QBR fan Christa
Every once in a while, I come across a work of literature, which is not only fascinating, entertaining, and moving, but which touches me on a deeper level. The Brevity of Roses by Linda Cassidy Lewis is one of those books. It is a story about love, the power and beauty of love as well as the fear it can trigger and the pain it can cause. Love is what the three main characters—Jalal, Meredith, and Renee—struggle with.
This is a carefully crafted, beautifully told story. The characters are complex and believable, flawed but loveable. With vivid descriptions, the author manages to engage our senses, our thoughts, and our emotions. And, without any explicit love-making scenes, she creates a highly charged and sensuous atmosphere.
Masterful debut novel by a talented author. I look forward to more of her work. ~ $2.99

Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand - Review by QBR
Here's a super "quickie" review. This is a nice little story about three women each looking to escape their troubles so they take a trip to Nantucket where they meet a young manthat becomes part of their chaotic household. The characters are endearing and the story will keep you turning pages to the end.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon - Review from QBR fan Melinda:
Just finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, by Mark Haddon. GREAT story with a 15 year old protagonist who has Aspergers Disorder, and who sets out to solve the mystery of a murdered dog. Excellent portrayal of not only the protagonist, but also family dynamics. Realistic, touching, and both sad and funny. Kindle price: $11.99, Paperback: $10.17

Trevor Wolff can’t seem to catch a break. Yes, he’s a hot rock star from the band, ShapeShifter. And, he’s got women waiting in line to be with him. But the inner workings of Trevor are much more complex. His life up until then had been emotionally and physically turbulent. And just when things seem to finally be going his way, his whole rock star life is threatened. Not only is he devastated by the addition of an unwanted new member—his best friend’s girlfriend—he’s also hiding an illness that could cut short his road to fame and fortune. It was hard not to love Trevor’s character, even with his arrogant, raunchy, obnoxious personality. The author did a good job of molding him into someone that you really wanted to care about and root for. I enjoyed being on the road with the band and getting the behind the scenes experience with ShapeShifter. I’d recommend this as a fun and interesting read, but keep in mind that Trevor is uncensored.
